The NAACP Georgia State Conference mourns the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson, a giant in the struggle for civil rights, economic justice, and human dignity.

Rev. Jackson devoted his life to the service of others, carrying forward the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and giving voice to the voiceless through his fearless advocacy and unwavering commitment to equality.  He stood as a champion for voting rights, workers’ rights, healthcare access, and peace.

His leadership, vision, and moral courage inspired generations of activists, clergy, and community leaders across Georgia and the nation. The impact of his work will continue to be felt in every movement for justice and every fight for fairness.

On behalf of the Georgia State Conference of the NAACP, we extend our deepest condolences to the Jackson family, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, and all who were touched by his life and ministry. We honor his legacy by recommitting ourselves to the unfinished work of justice, equity, and freedom for all.
