The Georgia NAACP Issues Statement Regarding Mass Shooting In Buffalo, NY

Make no mistake, what happened in Buffalo, New York was a terrorist attack on Black lives. The same racial hatred running through the veins of 18 year-old Payton Gendron, is the same racial hatred running through the veins of Anti-Black hate groups, who have made it their sole mission to kill, steal, and destroy Black lives and their families for decades. The terrorist attack on the Buffalo Supermarket is a reflection of a failed system that has yet to put policy measures in place to protect all people. Together we must work to dismantle white supremacy and stiffen penalties against ‘racially motivated' massacres. The Georgia NAACP takes all matters of racial discrimination and racial hatred seriously. We stand together in solidarity with the families of those murdered in Buffalo, NY and we demand that the highest form of justice be served for such a hate crime.
