GEORGIA NAACP PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO BRING WATER TO NORTH GEORGIA FAMILIES

When serious flooding affected the water system in northwest Georgia, the Georgia NAACP"s response was to partner with the local branches and the American Red Cross to respond to the need of the people.

Heavy rainfall this weekend led the local NAACP branches to adjust their efforts toward Summerville, Ga. An effort across the units of the Georgia State Conference of the NAACP to donate bottled water and other items is in full swing to assist northwest Georgia.

President Dexter Benning of the Bartow County NAACP is leading the charge to respond with water and goods needed by several prodominately African American churches in the City of Summerville. The Georgia NAACP would like to thank the Bartow County and Rome-Floyd County branches for providing support to the City of Summerville and Catoosa County after the recent weather emergencies. #gapol#NAACP#Movingforward
