Georgia Voters Urged to Tune In: Vital Candidate Forum for Public Service Commission Statewide Election
ATLANTA, GA — With Georgia's energy future and household utility costs on the line, the Georgia NAACP, in partnership with leading civic and community organizations, is calling on voters across the state to attend a Nonpartisan Candidate Forum for the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) Statewide Election. The forum will take place Tuesday, May 27, 2025, and is open to both in-person and virtual attendees.
Why This Race Matters:
The Public Service Commission may not always make headlines—but its decisions directly impact every Georgian’s wallet and well-being. From setting electric and gas rates to shaping how Georgia transitions to cleaner, more sustainable energy, the PSC plays a powerful role in regulating the state’s utilities and infrastructure. This election will influence how much you pay each month for power—and what kind of energy future Georgia builds for generations to come.
This forum offers voters a rare chance to hear directly from PSC candidates about their vision, priorities, and stance on key issues like energy affordability, grid modernization, climate resilience, and consumer protections. With early voting already underway, now is the time to get informed and make your voice heard.
